Configuring Your Server For Graffiti
For Graffiti to function properly, you must enable Graffiti with full write access to your entire web directory. The configuration procedure you follow depends upon your operating system or server environment.
The following table describes the configuration options:

Local
- Right click on the folder containing your Graffiti files.
- Select Properties from the list.
- Select the Security tab. By default, Windows XP does NOT display the security tab. To see the Properties tab, select the Tools menu from any explorer window, navigate to the "View" tab, scroll to the bottom and uncheck the option "Use Simple File Sharing".
The Properties tab window looks like this:

- Click Add… to display the Select Users or Groups window.

- Type ASPNET in the text box.
- Click Check Names to add the name of your computer in front of ASPNet.
- Click OK to return to the Properties tab.
- Select the ASPNET user account from the group or user names list.
- Check the following boxes under Allow in the Permissions for ASP.NET Machine Account list:

- Click Apply.
- Click OK to close the Properties window.
Server
Setting up Windows 2003 is exactly the same as setting up Windows XP with the exception that the user account is called Network Service rather than ASPNet.
- Right click on the folder containing your Graffiti files.
- Select Properties from the list.
- Select the Security tab. You should have a window which looks like this:

- Click Add… to display the Select Users or Groups window.

- Type Network Service in the text box.
- Click Check Names to add the name of your computer in front of ASPNet.
- Click OK to return to the Properties tab.
- Select the ASPNET user account from the group or user names list.
- Check the following boxes under Allow in the Permissions for Network Service list:

- Click Apply.
- Click OK to close the Properties window.
Hosted
Navigate to folder where you uploaded the Graffiti files and select the option which enables write access.

The window displayed by the system may look slightly different depending on where your site is hosted, but in it will be very similar.
